“In Destined, the forces of Light and Dark collide as their epic struggle focuses on Tulsa’s House of Night. Zoey is home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side and preparing to face off against Neferet. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx’s gift of a human form, he and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together if Rephaim can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father’s shadow.
But is Zoey really safe? Does she truly know those who are closest to her? And will love win when it is tested by the very soul of Darkness? Find out what is destined in the next thrilling chapter of the House of Night series.”
OK…well…out of all of the House of Night books I’ve read, this one was the best so far. Though, with how terrible the writing and story is, it’s not hard for one to be better.
I was about ready to punch Aphrodite in the face though. It’d be nice if PC Cast and Kristin Cast would give her another thing to say besides, “For shit’s sake”. It’s old. It’s annoying. Say something else!
This was the first of the books that actually had somewhat of an ending as opposed to finishing the book in the middle of something happening.
The only thing that disturbs me about these books is that they are for teens and there is SO MUCH sex in them. Yeah, they try to play it off by saying that vamps know when they meet their mate or whatever. But seriously? I read these and think, “Hmm…yeah, great message to give to young girls. They should have sex with the person they ‘think’ is their mate. No problem.” Ridiculous.
This series really is terribly written and makes you want to poke your eyeball out. In 9 books, the story has progressed, maybe, 3 months. The only reason I even continue reading this series is because my co-worker has them downloaded and she burns me a copy that I can listen to at work. If it weren’t for boredom at work, I wouldn’t even make the effort to listen to these.
